Exception Words is a free educational game to help children practise spelling words from the UK National Curriculum.
We don’t collect personal information
You don’t need an account to play. We never ask for a name, email address, or any other detail that could identify a child. There is no login, and we store no personal data.
How the game works
The game runs entirely in your web browser. Your answers and scores stay on your device for the duration of a game and are not sent to us or saved anywhere afterwards.
Anonymous usage statistics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how many people use the game and to keep it running smoothly. These tools:
- do not use cookies and do not store anything on your device,
- do not track you across other websites,
- collect only anonymous, aggregated information such as which pages are viewed and how quickly they load.
This information cannot be used to identify you or your child. You can read more about how these tools protect privacy in Vercel’s privacy documentation.
Children’s privacy
This game is designed for primary school children. Because we collect no personal data and use no tracking cookies, it is built to respect the UK Children’s Code (Age Appropriate Design Code).
